The White Sapote is commonly known as the “Mexican Apple” or “Sleepy Sapote” They produce a fruit that is sweet, white to off-white, and smooth with a taste that has been described as a creamy sugar cube that can take on notes of banana or pear. The peel is greenish-yellow to yellow golden and is typical baseball to softball sized. They are wonderful eaten fresh or used in milkshakes and desserts.
