Irwin Mango
The Irwin mango is a popular and visually striking mango cultivar developed in Miami, Florida in 1939 by F.D. Irwin. It is celebrated worldwide for its heavy, consistent yields and brilliant crimson-red blush when mature, which has earned it the nickname "apple mango" in parts of Asia. The tree features an open canopy and has an excellent, naturally compact growth habit, making it a favorite for both residential landscapes and container gardening. Its fruit is highly prized for being entirely fiberless, offering a smooth, melting texture with a sweet, mild tropical flavor and a pleasant aroma.
